Overall I have only one relatively minor complaint which is that the fingerprint scanner basically never works for me. It’s not really a huge deal since I use the face recognition but sometimes it’s inconvenient.
But I will say I wouldn’t really recommend it over some cheaper options like Motorola G series. It’s just not enough of an improvement.

Starting off, I’m a big tech nerd and when it comes to phones this one is just amazing, I love the AMOLED display (Because OLED just makes me geek out) and the camera is amazing. No matter what condition the rear camera looks good (except for in the darkness, but in general most cameras aren’t great in the dark). Another great thing about the phone is the amount of internal storage it has no matter what you throw at this thing it has room left over. The only con I can see from the phone is the fingerprint scanner under the screen, I love Samsung for implementing this in such a cheap phone but it can be a little slow sometimes. but after a while, I don’t even notice it anymore.

I bought this to replace my galaxy s8 because my eyesight is not what it use to be and i wanted a larger screen. So far, here is what i found:
The screen is good. Not great but good enough. Copying my stuff from the S8 to the A50 was easy. Note that the required cable to connect the 2 phones together was NOT included. Fortunatly i had one.
I have also noted that the phone is not as snappy as my S8.
This phone has no wireless charging, no notification LED, and no NFC. It is cheap and I should have suspected this.
Battery life is yet to be determined. I will update as time goes by..assuming I keep it.

I have nothing to complain about the phone except for the fingerprint recognition. My old phone – Samsung M20 – does a much better job with this feature. The A50 most of the time doesn’t recognize my fingerprint and you may think it’s not that big a problem but it’s terribly annoying

Pros:
Good phone reception, clear sound
Great screen
Smooth
Runs fast
Long-lasting battery
Rapid charge
Inexpensive, comparatively
Easy to handle
Excellent camera for a phone ~ love Samsung cameras
Con
The only con I have is the screen has cracked even with the screen protector and rubber bumper – had and dropped my Note 4 many, many times, and never a scratch!

This phone is just a sweet heart. I cannot describe how I love it. I did not rate the facial recognition, because I did not use that feature. But based on what I have seen so far, I can bet it will be worth 5 stars. It is just a wonderful investment. The seller is super kind by providing a clear tightly fit case for the phone, one of the most sensitive screen protector and to top it all a very large memory card. I received this product in a way shorter time than expected. What a nice business! I love this phone!

I am very satisfied with this phone. I am not a power user or a gamer so it works seamlessly for my basic needs. I wish the fingerprint reader worked better – this is where the phone loses points. Battery life is excellent. The screen is beautiful (can be read easily in bright sunlight). Camera exceeds my needs (note that the high definition mode is not the default mode, but you can change that). The A50 can last two to three days before needing to be charged. Overall, for any user who needs a mid-level phone, this one plays that role perfectly.

Fingerprint reader sucks. I got this phone to replace an LG V20 that kept restarting on its own. I miss some features from that phone, but overall I think this one was a pretty good value for the money. Battery life seems good. Camera is good. I mostly use it for phone, email, and browsing, and it fills those needs nicely. Will probably go with Samsung again.

In general, the phone is really good and for it gives you a lot of bang for your buck, but my biggest problem is the fingerprint reader. It is just terrible. I have to try almost 3-5 times every time and after the fifth failed attempt, it just locks you out and you have to use your pin code to unlock it. It is just awful.

Love this phone 😍. Good battery life, recharges very fast. Lightweight and thin. It’s fast running all my apps. My only complaint
is the 64gb MICROSD card it came with lasted only 2 days then wasn’t recognized anymore. I tried cleaning methods but nope.
Daniel C –
Everything sounds good on paper, but the performance and finger print reader hold it back. If this phone was running a clean version of Android it might run a little faster, but it feels like it’s being held back performance wise by samsungs ui. The phones fingerprint reader is not very responsive, sometimes I have to press it multiple times to get a response. Maybe my expectations were too high for a phone like this…. But for the price, flagship specs can be founds elsewhere for a similar price.
Sergio –
In all, it’s a great phone and relatively cheaper. The finger print ready is not that effective because most of the time I have to try it more than twice. It seems not to work well when you have a screen protector kn the phone.
As for the facial recognition, it pretty accurate. Battery life is awesome and recharge very quickly.

I’ve had this for about a year. Only buy this product if you like the following “features”:
– A fingerprint scanner that doesn’t work
– Not being able to change the music unless you open the app it’s playing from
– Randomly shutting down and waiting for the phone to boot up again
– The most uncomfortable keyboard
– Most apps not running well if you’re also listening to music
– A lot of lag/ unresponsiveness at random times
However, it does send texts reliably, the call quality is pretty good, and I’ve never had a problem with the battery life. You definitely get what you pay for here.
Lilly –
Decently priced phone especially looking at the funtionalities.
Abigail Martin –
You will not be disappointed with this phone.
Camera quality is amazing. Space is amazing.
Everyone that sees me with it think it’s an iPhone. I attached sample photos so you can see the photo quality. These photos have no edit and comes straight from the phone…yes even the black n white one. The camera filter allows this. Quality of the camera compares to an iPhone.

I have been using it for more than 1 year and it is strong built phone that I dropped it many times. It might be sluggish sometimes but never crashed. Batter life was okey in the beginning but it just slowly draining quicker than before. Good product for that buck.
Aji Nik –
It was one of the good phone I had. It wad fall down from my hand multiple time but never gave issue or any damage but unfortunately it fall down in water last time from kayak. Lol

I’ve always purchased the Samsung S series in the past but wanted to get a cheaper product this time around, but still wanted a Samsung phone, so I looked into the A series and decided to purchase the A50. Admittedly I didn’t have the latest S phone so I was coming from owning an S7, but still I am 100% satisfied with this phone. No glitches, fast speed, great camera. I’ve had it for a few months now and I have no complaints.
